The city of Chiang Mai is the biggest city in the north of Thailand. It is about 680 km north of Bangkok and it will take you 1 hour by plane and 7-8 hours by car or bus to reach it. It is now a quite modern city but it has a charm Bangkok does not have. You can visit temples, markets, pubs, ... within a walking distance from downtown hotels. And people are nice.
Chiang Mai est la plus grosse ville du nord de la Thaïlande. Elle se trouve à environ 680 kms de Bangkok et cela vous prendra donc 1 h d'avion ou 7-8 heures de bus ou voiture pour vous y rendre. C'est maintenant une ville moderne mais elle a gardé un charme que Bangkok n'a plus. Vous pouvez facilement visiter le centre et ses temples et marchés à pied de vôtre hôtel. Et les habitants sont plus sympathiques que dans la capitale.
